Interesting software. I rely upon measurements first ("more data...less wank"), then correlate them to my listening impressions. They don't always line up - sometimes an ugly looking FR curve suits my ears just fine and vice-verse. This strikes me as being like taking a wine-tasting course. We can learn some vocabulary to better describe what we like and don't like, and that mental framework opens up possibilities to explore new, different varieties that we may have otherwise overlooked.

The ear+brain+mind(= hearing) combination is a fascinating subject.
This study claims to assess what someone is actually hearing, not just what comes into the ears. Early days but still interesting.
